La Salamandra's Dulce de Leche (Milk Caramel) is produced with very fresh milk and does not contain neither chemical additives nor preservers. It keeps all natural virtues of fresh milk and has an unequalable taste and consistency.

In July, 2000, La Salamandra was awarded with the 1st prize in the Fancy Food Show – New York because of our Dulce de Leche (Milk Caramel) for the category “Outstanding jam, preserve, spread, or sweet topping”. The importance of this award was reflected in the local press due to Argentina 's representation as an exporter and due to the fact that the dulce de leche (milk caramel) is an exclusive Argentinean product (see awards).

The dulce de leche (milk caramel) is a kind of pleasure that has to be tasted slowly…..with your eyes closed…..

Its handmade elaboration is a kind of harmonious combination of cow milk, sugar and vanilla that is cooked until it reaches the exact flavor, color and texture in order to turn out to be irresistible.

It is an ideal source of nutrients for kids and teenagers because it provides them with energy. It is handy, full of proteins and it can be consumed alone or spread over bread and butter (just like peanut butter).

It is also ideal for filling crêpes or to give the final touch to ice creams and fruits. It is generally used for preparing cakes and pastry.
